This website is not intended to store any personal data of its visitors. Corresponding input options do not exist or have been disabled to the best of our knowledge. We neither send newsletters nor use contact forms. There are no sales tools or shop functions. There are no links to social media.

Anonymous Statistics
We would like to know how many visitors access this website and which articles interest them most. We also want to identify technical errors (incorrect links, missing elements, etc.). This website has existed since 1999 and has undergone various changes. Errors were/are unavoidable and are often only detectable through statistical information about access and results.

For this purpose, Matomo (formerly called Piwik) is used. Data protection officers consider Piwik / Matomo, when properly configured, to be the most privacy-friendly statistics tool. It is configured to automatically delete the last six digits of visitors’ IP addresses so they cannot be identified. We have added code to ensure that Matomo does not store cookies in visitors’ browsers.

Matomo provides us with the following information about visitors

- Number of visitors (daily, monthly, etc.)
- Visitor map by country
- Browser types and unique number of their users
- External website links from which visitors arrive
- Search terms that led to our pages
- Visitor distribution by time of day
- Shortened and anonymized IP addresses

Matomo: Information about a visit. Date, hour, anonymized IP address, browser Opera, Russian Federation. Website from which the redirection occurred. Visited webpage and duration.

Cookies Cookies are pieces of information stored by visitors’ browsers. To the best of our knowledge, the creation of cookies by this website has been largely disabled. Many pages previously displayed advertisements from Google Adsense and affiliate systems. These were removed several years ago. However, it cannot be ruled out that some were overlooked. Such ads store cookies on users’ computers. If you discover an active advertising block on this website, please inform us at info@medienarchiv.com.
