The website medienarchiv.com was founded in 1999 by Thomas Gade. In 2021 it received the new name Fotoarchiv Gade, a long overdue adjustment, as the site focuses exclusively on photography and the majority of the images come from the personal collection of Thomas Gade.Due to growing international interest and increasingly English-language communication, another renaming followed in 2026. Since then, this website is called Gade Photo Archive.
